Bleep Bulimia
This podcast is all about different ways to support recovery from bulimia, primarily focussing on Midlife Bulimia. No ONE way is right for everyone when it comes to recovery. This Podcast aims at inviting specialized guests who are able to help with providing different approaches, from emotional eating to spiritual methods of overcoming it, and even methods that likely many have not even heard of before yet may be that SPARK to move forward and say "yes, this form of recovery I can relate to". She is the author of How To Have Your Cake & Not Eat It All Too - Adult Bulimia Recovery Guide and soon to be the author of Sherri's World, a fiction based on her story of struggling with bulimia for 30 years and the 13 years of living as a recovered bulimic. Bleep Bulimia
Bleep Bulimia Podcast Episode 108 with Helen Sernett Sleep Evangelist and Sleep Lists Podcast Host
Helen Sernett, a sleep Evangelist and a Podcast host of Sleep Lists. What a wonderful topic.
We many times don't sleep because we want to be awake for the life we want to be having. But sleep deprivation can send you to a state of health.
Helen shares her own experience that not sleeping well was causing her health issues.
So she went looking for ways to sleep to counter that need to be awake and for something to stop all that Monkey Brain, to stop the overthinking.
So after a while, she couldn't find it so she created her own way to do this.
When you are working long days, you do have that feeling of not wanting to lose out on those hours you want to stay up to no lose the time of life with you!
All those thoughts... that make you lose sleep. I still have issues. I don't have insomnia.
I have the issue of wanting every day of my life to matter and it keeps me up.
Helen taught me about what happens at night. What your body does when it sleeps and what you do when you don't sleep to deprive your internal organs.
Very interesting. We all know that sleep is important but some of us don't care to listen to it.
What can sleep do for you? Find out more. And did you know you can break up 8 hours a day in half in a day? And that you cannot catch up. Day by night 8 hours. Not broken by 4 hours one night and 12 the next. It's 8 hours a day.
Do you sleep all night dream about memories.. and how does your brain stop dreaming? What does it mean if you are dreaming about trauma and you keep dreaming about it?
Listen to find out. If your brain can't process the trauma that you can't figure out, apparently your brain's dreams are trying to process it...
Helen was a wonderful guest. This dream and sleep are very interesting. And I shared that while bulimic I only saw black and white and dark. Since my recovery, I have seen colour again. I love what Helen spoke to this.
We also brought up Benjamin, the Dream Wizard. He is fascinating and both Helen and I were on his Podcast. A plug for you... Benjamin. :)
Hitting a low point can maybe cause dark.. and this was so interesting... I loved this.
So much more than I can write here. Please listen. SLEEP. Are you asked about sleep by your Doctor?
Know you sleep 1/3 of your life. Find the right bed~
