If you are trying to recover, it truly is important to listen.
If you have to ask the same question 5 times, you are not listening, and there could be a couple of reasons. You are not 100% ready to recover, or the person helping you, be it a psychiatrist, therapist or coach, is NOT the right fit.
Find the right fit. If you feel they are, then you need to focus and journal and make sure you listen.
Listening is part of the recovery process.
